Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that no opposition candidate stands a chance of defeating him in the 2026 governorship election, attributing his confidence to his administration’s performance and the unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Speaking on Thursday evening before the PDP Governorship Screening Committee in Abuja, Adeleke said his achievements over the past years had earned him overwhelming support from Osun residents, assuring that the people would renew his mandate.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the Osun governorship election for August 8, 2026, while party primaries are scheduled to hold between November 24 and December 15, 2025.
Adeleke dismissed speculations of internal crisis within the Osun PDP, insisting that the party remains united and focused on governance.
“First of all, there are no internal wranglings in Osun State. When you look around, you’ll see that the PDP in Osun is united. We are one big family, and everything is going smoothly,” he said.
The governor noted that his administration’s policies and projects have positively impacted citizens, adding that transparency and accountability have guided his leadership.
“The people of Osun will choose me again because I have performed excellently. I introduced what I call fact-checking; anyone can go back and verify what is happening in Osun State. We are in a technology-driven era; you can simply Google it and confirm that we are doing well,” Adeleke said.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, workers’ welfare, and youth empowerment, emphasizing that his government’s record of service would speak louder than any campaign slogan as the 2026 election approaches.
