Representatives from all participating local government teams are set to convene for a mandatory pre-tournament seminar this Tuesday, a key preparatory step for the upcoming Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup.
The event, organized by the tournament’s committee, aims to ensure a smooth and fair competition by thoroughly briefing teams on the official regulations.
In a statement, the Organizing Committee confirmed that all arrangements for the seminar are complete and praised the “overwhelming cooperation” from the participating teams. This high level of engagement, the committee noted, signals a strong commitment from all sides for a successful tournament.
The seminar agenda will feature a comprehensive breakdown of the competition format and a vital session led by the Ekiti State Referee Council. This session is designed to clarify rule interpretations and recent updates, a measure intended to minimize on-field confusion and disputes during the tournament.
To ensure the information is disseminated effectively, each team is sending five representatives. This delegation is expected to include both technical staff and key players, guaranteeing that all major stakeholders are fully aligned on the expected conduct and competitive requirements.
The seminar will be held at the Phoenix Athletics Operations Office, located at the Alafia Bread junction, opposite the old Tosin Aluko park in Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti. The event begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
