The management of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, has debunked a viral Artificial Intelligence-generated image claiming that militants had taken over the institution’s entrance.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Deputy Registrar, Public and Alumni Relations, Opeyemi Olawore, the college described the circulating image as false, misleading and deliberately crafted to create unnecessary panic among students, parents and members of the host community.
The institution urged the public to disregard what it called a “false and cruel post” shared by “mischief makers whose motives are unknown,” insisting that the campus was safe and calm.
According to the management, academic and administrative activities are running smoothly, with students attending lectures and going about their normal routines without any security threat or disruption.
