The newly elected President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Muhammad Magaji, has pledged to strengthen collaboration and innovation within the country’s agricultural sector, saying the association is committed to creating platforms that will drive meaningful progress for farmers nationwide.
Magaji, who commended President Bola Tinubu’s renewed focus on repositioning agriculture and reinforcing food security, urged farmers across all regions to align themselves with ongoing government reforms to ensure Nigeria achieves sustainable productivity.
In a statement issued by AFAN and made public in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, the president made the remarks at his inauguration ceremony held at the 2025 National Agricultural Showground along the Abuja–Keffi Road in Nasarawa State.
His assumption of office follows the election of a 27-member AFAN National Executive Council during the association’s congress, in accordance with resolutions adopted by the General Assembly of Farmers.
Calling for wider unity within the sector, Magaji appealed to members to throw their full support behind the new leadership and national objectives.
“We are calling on all members of AFAN nationwide to give us maximum support. The Tinubu-led Federal Government is fully committed to agriculture and the welfare of farmers. All they need is a unified umbrella body of Nigerian farmers,” he said.
