Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the conversion and promotion of 654 officers across various junior and senior cadres within the state’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
The Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Kamoru Aderibigbe, announced the development in a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade.
He explained that the beneficiaries, who span sub-officer levels, had each enhanced their qualifications by obtaining relevant and accredited certifications from recognized tertiary institutions.
Aderibigbe stated that the approval would result in improved remuneration for the officers and provide them a clear pathway to attaining the peak of their civil service careers.
He described the move as an “unprecedented end-of-year goodwill gesture” by Governor Makinde and urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the governor’s gesture with greater dedication, diligence, and commitment to their duties.
