The Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Prof. Francis Igbasan, has welcomed the resumption of the University’s new Registrar, Mrs Emi’ Alawode, describing the appointment as a strategic step toward strengthening governance, service delivery, and institutional systems.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, “The Registry is the backbone of university administration. With the depth of experience and people-centred vision the new Registrar brings, we are confident of a Registry that is responsive, collaborative, and future-ready.”
The Vice-Chancellor also commended the Immediate Past Acting Registrar, Mr Olufemi Adebowale, for adding value during the transition period, noting that the University remains committed to continuity and institutional respect.
The new Registrar, Mrs Emi Alawode, brings a renewed focus on people-centred service delivery, administrative efficiency, and collaborative governance. With many years of experience in university administration, governance, and institutional communication, the Registrar described the Registry as a critical support system that must function with clarity, empathy, and consistency. Her immediate focus is on listening, continuity, and gradual system strengthening.
She also paid tribute to the immediate-past Acting Registrar, Mr Olufemi Adebowale, appreciating the dedication and stability he brought to the Registry during his tenure. According to her, leadership at McPherson University is built on continuity and shared institutional memory.
In the coming weeks, the new Registrar will engage staff and students through structured consultations to identify challenges, opportunities, and immediate service improvements. Plans are underway to strengthen response timelines, improve access to information, and simplify Registry processes for students and staff.
In addition, the Registrar is set to leverage her growing experience in artificial intelligence and digital systems to strengthen Registry operations. This will include the gradual adoption of technology-enabled processes to improve records management, workflow efficiency, data integrity, and service delivery, in line with global best practices for modern, forward-looking universities.
Central to Mrs Alawode’s approach is an open-door policy that values ideas, feedback, and collaboration. She reaffirmed that a modern Registry thrives when staff feel empowered, and students feel supported; “when systems work well, learning thrives,” she stated.
McPherson University looks forward to this new chapter of administrative leadership, anchored on service, integrity, and collective effort as it continues to advance its vision of academic distinction, sound governance, and student-focused administration within a rapidly changing global education landscape.
