The Oyo State Police Command has successfully rescued a 60-year-old kidnap victim, Isiaku Saidu, in the Iseyin Local Government Area of the state, while also dismantling a separate three-member kidnapping syndicate.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the rescue and arrests followed the directive of the State Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, to intensify efforts aimed at securing lives and property across Oyo.
Ayanlade reported that the command recorded significant operational successes over the past week. These achievements included the foiling of kidnapping attempts, the rescue of abducted victims, and the arrest of murder suspects.
The coordinated operations as reiterated the commitment of The Nigerian Police on tackling violent crimes in the state, particularly the persistent threat of kidnapping which has affected rural and urban communities alike.
