Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a decisive step toward its 2026 national convention, announcing a compulsory screening exercise for all aspirants seeking to contest for top party positions.
In a formal notice released by the party’s Aspirants’ Screening Committee, candidates who have completed the purchase and submission of their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms have been summoned to appear for verification.
The high-stakes screening is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Abuja, where proceedings are expected to begin at 9:00 a.m.
Party officials made it clear that attendance is not optional. All aspirants must present themselves physically, armed with the necessary documents to validate their eligibility and credentials.
The exercise is seen as a critical phase in the APC’s internal process, aimed at ensuring that only qualified candidates proceed to contest for national offices at the convention.
