UFC fighter, Joe Pyfer delivered a career-defining performance, stopping Israel Adesanya inside two rounds.
Pyfer overwhelmed the former champion with relentless pressure before securing a decisive finish from top control, underlining his arrival as a serious contender in the division. Speaking after the bout, he summed up his mindset bluntly: he came in to “search and destroy” and did exactly that.
For Adesanya, now holding a 24-6 MMA record, the defeat deepens a difficult stretch. Since reclaiming the middleweight title at UFC 287 in April 2023, the New Zealand-based fighter has struggled to regain consistency. Despite the setback, however, he made it clear he is far from done, insisting he will continue pushing forward in pursuit of another title run.
In a deeply personal moment after the fight, Pyfer revealed the emotional battles he has faced outside the octagon, admitting he had recently struggled with suicidal thoughts before finding renewed purpose.
“I almost took my own life a couple weeks ago… but I found God,” he said, adding a powerful layer of vulnerability to an already emphatic night.
