Top hospitality company, Glocient Hospitality Limited has reinforced its commitment to safety with a comprehensive firefighting training for staff at Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, underscoring the company’s focus on protecting guests, employees, and critical assets.
The exercise, which involved personnel from the Culinary, Food and Beverages, Security, and Maintenance departments, forms part of the organisation’s routine safety programme aimed at boosting emergency preparedness and awareness across all operational units.
According to a statement issued by Senior Communications Specialist, Bukola Fortune-Omosola, the initiative remains a key component of the company’s proactive approach to risk management, ensuring that both staff and visitors are safeguarded at all times.
The training, held on April 20, 2026, was facilitated by officials from the Ekiti State Fire Service. The team, led by Principal Fire Superintendent Sunday Adeleye, alongside Chief Fire Superintendent Florence Ayeni and officer Ademola, guided 32 participants through both theoretical and practical sessions.
Speaking during the exercise, Adeleye highlighted the dual nature of fire, stressing the importance of responsible handling. He explained that while fire serves essential purposes when properly controlled, it can quickly become destructive when safety regulations are ignored due to negligence or overconfidence.
Participants were trained on fire prevention strategies, hazard identification, and effective response techniques. The session also covered common fire risks such as electrical faults, gas leaks, and human error, while emphasising early detection and preventive measures.
Beyond theory, the training included practical demonstrations on the safe use of firefighting equipment, as well as emergency response protocols such as evacuation procedures, raising alarms, and contacting emergency services.
Management of Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort reiterated that while delivering quality hospitality services remains central to its operations, the safety and wellbeing of guests, staff, and partners will always take top priority.
