A CHIEFTAIN of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has showed strong confidence in securing the party’s vice-presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Kano State governor stated that securing the slot would strategically position Kano to eventually produce the nation’s president.
“By God’s grace, the next election will be unlike anything that has ever happened in our state and country, especially if I secure the ticket and my name is on the ballot,” Kwankwaso said.
He lamented that despite its immense political influence since the First Republic, Kano has never produced a vice president, describing the historical gap as a disappointment that needs correction.
“Kano State will rightfully secure this position, which will open the door for our state to eventually produce the president of this country,” he added.
Kwankwaso further urged voters in the North-West zone to be strategically aligned, noting that Southern politicians are already registering with the newly formed alliance.
