The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, in what officials described as a coordinated early-morning operation in Kaduna State.
According to confirmation from the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, the arrest took place around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday following ongoing enforcement actions linked to his conviction for financial misappropriation.
Olukoyede disclosed that Mamman was picked up alongside two other individuals believed to have been providing protection at the location where he was found.
The EFCC boss added that the property involved in the arrest is currently under investigation as part of wider inquiries.
The arrest comes shortly after Mamman was convicted and sentenced by the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of financial wrongdoing related to his time in office.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the anti-graft agency continues efforts to recover public funds and pursue individuals implicated in corruption cases.
Further details are expected as the EFCC expands its inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his arrest and associated properties.
I’m happy to announce to Nigerians that at 3:30 this morning, we arrested Saleh Mamman.
