As protesters march on the streets in parts of the country on the occasion of democracy day to demand urgent action against worsening insecurity President Bola Tinubu issued stern warnings to bandits, kidnappers and sponsors of terrorism, to desist or face the full force of the law.
In his democracy day broadcast message aimed at criminal elements across the country, the president said the window for surrender and repentance would not remain open indefinitely.
The President cautioned Nigerians against politicising insecurity or attaching criminality to any ethnic group.
He also attributed the country’s insecurity to the collapse of grassroots governance stating that effective local government administration remains critical to national development.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain united and work together towards building a more prosperous and inclusive nation.
