The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered an alleged child prostitution ring operating from a building within Idumota Market in Lagos Island.

The operation was led by the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, resulting in the arrest of a 28-year-old woman identified as Princess Andrew.

She is accused of recruiting underage girls, reportedly between the ages of 13 and 15, for prostitution within the market area.

ACP Fatai said the suspect allegedly coordinated the movement and exploitation of the minors from the building where the illicit activities were said to be taking place.

The police said the discovery followed intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks exploiting vulnerable persons in the state.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals who may be connected to the alleged ring, as well as to determine the extent of the operation.

Authorities also assured that all individuals involved would be brought to justice in line with the law, while efforts are being intensified to rescue any additional victims.

The Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, especially those involving the exploitation of minors, to security agencies for prompt action.
