The Tegbe Foundation has concluded its empowerment initiative, tagged #JTstrikesDiamond, with the disbursement of grants to 60 small businesses and social enterprises across Oyo State.
The beneficiaries, predominantly youth-led enterprises, received financial support ranging from N100,000 to N500,000 to strengthen their businesses and expand their operations.
The initiative was conceived to commemorate the 60th birthday of the foundation’s founder, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, while supporting young entrepreneurs and community-based enterprises.
The grant presentation and closing ceremony, held in Ibadan as part of activities marking International Youth Day, brought together government representatives, traditional leaders, business stakeholders and community leaders.
The foundation said the initiative reflected its commitment to youth development, entrepreneurship and the creation of sustainable economic opportunities for young people in Oyo State.
Among those who attended the ceremony were Oloye Denrele Lekan-Salami, Ajia Balogun Olubadan; Engr. Bode Johnson; Femi Adeleke, Executive Director of Tegbe Foundation; Hon. Hafiz Oladejo, Special Adviser to the Minister on Stakeholder Engagement; Asiwaju Tayo Alabi; Chief Funmilayo Arulogun; Hon. Inaolaji Akinloye; and Hon. Raji Draj Ademola.
Several of the guests delivered goodwill messages, commending the foundation for investing directly in small businesses and social enterprises.
The initiative is expected to provide the beneficiaries with additional capacity to sustain their ventures, create employment and contribute to economic activity within their communities.
