Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a visionary and passionate leader who has distinguished himself in both private and public service.
Sanwo-Olu, in a statement celebrating the Vice President, extended his greetings on behalf of his wife, Ibijoke, his family, the Lagos State Government, residents of the state, and leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.
The governor highlighted Shettima’s career before entering politics, noting that the Vice President spent nearly two decades as a lecturer and banker before venturing into public service.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Shettima served Borno State in various capacities, including as Commissioner, Governor and Senator representing Borno Central, before becoming Vice President of Nigeria on May 29, 2023.
He described Shettima as a committed and selfless public servant whose vision aligns with that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in pursuing economic stability, social development and political cohesion.
Sanwo-Olu also praised the Vice President for what he described as his pragmatic leadership and contributions across both the private and public sectors at state and national levels.
As Shettima marks his 60th birthday, the Lagos governor wished him good health and wisdom as he continues to serve the country.
He expressed confidence that the Vice President would continue to make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s development in the years ahead.
