Afrobeats singer Fireboy DML has recounted the culture shock he experienced after moving to Lagos in 2016 to pursue his music career.
The singer, speaking during a recent livestream, said he was initially frightened by some of the things he witnessed in the city, particularly in Surulere where he first stayed.
Fireboy recalled seeing people behaving strangely, dead bodies and cultists within his first few weeks in Lagos. He also said the appearance of some residents made him uncomfortable at the time.

Despite his fears, the singer said he remained determined to pursue his dreams and eventually adapted to life in the city.
