The Nigeria Police Force has reported a series of operational successes across several states, including the arrest of 334 suspects, rescue of kidnapped victims and recovery of firearms, ammunition and suspected illicit drugs.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in the State-by-State Executive Summary of the Police Operational Successes for September 21, 2026.
In Adamawa State, police operatives acting on intelligence cordoned off a suspected kidnappers’ den at Shako Forest in Toungo Local Government Area, where two kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt.
The operatives also recovered two magazines containing 10 rounds of 7.62×39mm live ammunition, as well as a NIN card, mobile phone, passport and chain.
In the Federal Capital Territory, police operatives conducted coordinated raids on criminal hotspots, black spots and uncompleted buildings across several areas, leading to the arrest of 334 suspects and the recovery of various quantities of substances suspected to be illicit drugs.
In Anambra State, police arrested a suspected child trafficker who was allegedly found in transit with a six-month-old baby boy. The child was recovered and handed over to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
In Kaduna State, four suspects linked to a kidnapping operation were arrested following intelligence-led investigations. Police said the suspects confessed to their involvement and provided information on fleeing accomplices. One locally-made Dane gun was recovered.
Also in Kaduna, another suspected member of a kidnapping syndicate was arrested at Soba Market. Police said the suspect confessed to the crime and provided information implicating five fleeing accomplices.
In Ebonyi State, police arrested a principal suspect in connection with the kidnapping of a female police officer following sustained intelligence-driven and technology-based investigations. The suspect allegedly led operatives to the location where the remains of the kidnapped officer were recovered.
A separate kidnapping investigation in Ebonyi also led to the arrest of a principal suspect, who allegedly guided police to a crime scene where the remains of the victim were recovered.
In Imo State, police arrested a suspect during a raid on a suspected criminal gathering at Nekede, Owerri West Local Government Area. A locally-made cut-to-size single-barrel gun was recovered.
In Ogun State, police arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting incident at Isara, Remo North Local Government Area. One single-barrel gun, one live cartridge and one expended shell were recovered.
In Ekiti State, two suspects linked to multiple shop-breaking and stealing incidents in Ado-Ekiti were arrested, with suspected stolen iron rods recovered.
Police also recovered an abandoned white sack containing a pump-action gun loaded with two live cartridges and a locally-made single-barrel gun from a farmland in Ado-Ekiti.
In Benue State, police tactical teams, supported by PMF personnel and military units, intervened in a renewed communal conflict at Akpa-Mbakor Community in Tarka Local Government Area.
The police said rampaging youths were dispersed, while security deployments restored normalcy and prevented further escalation.

In Oyo State, police arrested a truck driver involved in a fatal road traffic incident along the Ijebu-Ode/Idi Ayunre Road. The truck was impounded for further inspection and investigation.
The Force said all the cases remain under investigation by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments and the CID in Abuja.
