The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received the third batch of 110 Nigerian returnees from South Africa, as part of the 500 Nigerians whose return to the country is being sponsored by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 8:30 p.m. aboard a South African Airways flight and were received by the Head of Lagos Operations, NEMA, Mr. Mohammed Olatunde, alongside representatives of RCCG and other relevant government agencies.
The returnees were formally welcomed and provided with the necessary reception and humanitarian support upon arrival.
Speaking during the reception, the Head of Lagos Operations assured the returnees that NEMA would facilitate their onward transportation to their respective state capitals, in line with the Agency’s mandate to provide necessary support and assistance to returning Nigerians.
The transportation arrangement is part of the directives of the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, to ensure that the returnees are safely transported to their various destinations following their arrival in Nigeria.
