The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to disrupt the ongoing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collection exercise.
the PDP said it had received credible intelligence suggesting plans to deploy suspected thugs to INEC collection centres to intimidate registrants, disrupt the exercise and cart away PVCs belonging to eligible voters.
the party’s Publicity Secretary, Kayode Adebayo, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to strengthen security at collection centres across the state.
the opposition party, argued that the alleged plot, if established, would undermine the electoral process and infringe on citizens’ rights to participate freely in elections.
The PDP further urged security agencies to investigate suspected acts of electoral interference and prosecute anyone found culpable in accordance with the law.
