Just over a month after delivering one of the most thrilling Grand Slam finals in recent memory, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are set to clash again, this time on the hallowed grass of Wimbledon.
Their last meeting, a five-hour, 15-minute rollercoaster at Roland Garros, left fans breathless and craving more.
Now, just 35 days later, the two young stars will renew their rivalry in Sunday’s Wimbledon men’s final, promising another epic chapter in what is fast becoming tennis’ most electrifying duel.
World number one Jannik Sinner, who ended Novak Djokovic’s hopes of a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam in the semifinals, acknowledged the weight of anticipation surrounding the rematch.
“We saw the last final, you never know what will happen,” Sinner said. “Hopefully it’s going to be a good match like the last one. I don’t know if it can be better, because I don’t think it’s possible.”
With both men still in their early 20s, their growing rivalry is already being likened to the legendary Federer-Nadal era.
