The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced plans to embark on extensive construction and renovation of classrooms across all 33 Local Government Areas in the state.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Nureni Adeniran, during an Inter-Ministerial Briefing that held recently at the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Adeniran explained that the initiative is part of the state government’s commitment to revamp basic education infrastructure, particularly in public primary and junior secondary schools.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Adeniran noted that the board had already received the governor’s approval to commence the execution of these projects.
He added that the planned construction and renovation would not only address the lingering infrastructure deficit in the basic education sector but also ensure a more conducive learning environment for pupils.
