For the umpteenth time, the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has announced her intention to resume legislative duties at the National Assembly on Tuesday, following her suspension. She has chosen Tuesday, July 22 to do so.

Speaking with journalists during a training programme held in her constituency on Saturday, Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed that she has officially written to the Senate to communicate her planned return.

“I have pretty much two months more before the six months expire,” she was quoted as saying by Channels TV.

“However, I have written to the Senate again telling them that I’m resuming on the 22nd, which is on Tuesday, by the special grace of God.”

The senator explained that her decision to return is based on a court ruling, which, according to her, was not merely an order but a definitive judicial decision in her favour.

She however lamented the impact of her suspension, stating that it has significantly limited her ability to fulfill her legislative responsibilities and serve her constituents effectively.

Recall that Akpoti-Uduaghan was one of the senators suspended earlier in the year over alleged misconduct.
