A 17-year-old girl from Yobe State, Nafisa Aminu has emerged as the overall winner of the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals, held in London, United Kingdom.
Representing Nigeria through the Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) in Yobe, Nafisa beat more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries to clinch the prestigious title of World Best in English Language Skills.
The TeenEagle competition is renowned for its rigorous assessment of participants’ proficiency in English, alongside critical thinking and effective communication skills that are tested across a series of competitive stages. The contest draws high-performing students from both English-speaking and non-English-speaking nations, making Nafisa’s win a standout achievement on the global stage.
The announcement of her victory was made public through a statement by Hassan Salifu, head of the Aminu family, who attributed Nafisa’s success to “discipline, hard work, and the unwavering support of the Yobe State Government.”
He particularly commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his administration’s investment in education, saying, “Our daughter’s global triumph is a direct result of His Excellency Governor Buni’s visionary investment in education. This victory belongs to all of Yobe State and Nigeria at large.”
