The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to establish a Convention Planning Committee during its forthcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for July 24. Sources within the party have confirmed.
The committee, according to party insiders, will be tasked with coordinating preparations for the party’s National Elective Convention slated for December. At the convention, delegates are expected to elect a new set of leaders into the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Reports say the convention may not be limited to replacing the acting national chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori. Instead, a wider shake-up of the entire NWC is being considered.
“The push is strong among APC governors and NEC members. They want a clean slate, a full elective convention that will produce a new leadership team ahead of the 2027 general elections,” one source said.
