The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has held a stakeholder engagement with tenants of properties located at the proposed depot site in Okokomaiko.
LAMATA stated that it informed tenants that to process their claims, they must present an official Project Affected Persons (PAP) card issued during the earlier enumeration exercise, alongside a tenancy rent payment receipt from their landlord.
According to LAMATA, the disbursement of compensation to affected residents will commence next week, running from Wednesday through Friday.
On his part, the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaimon Raji Adeshina urged tenants with grievances or special appeals to channel them through his palace, assuring them that such concerns would be communicated to the government.
The engagement highlights LAMATA’s commitment to a people-centered approach in executing major transport infrastructure projects, ensuring that development efforts are carried out with due consideration for affected communities.
