Canada has deported 366 Nigerians between January and October 2025, as part of an intensified immigration enforcement drive moving at its fastest pace in over a decade, according to official data.

The figures, sourced from the Canada Border Services Agency removals programme and updated on November 25, 2025, also reveal that 974 Nigerians are currently in a “removal in progress” inventory awaiting deportation.

Nigeria now ranks ninth among the top 10 nationalities deported from Canada this year, and fifth among those with pending removal orders.

A breakdown of the data shows fluctuating numbers in recent years:

– 2019: 339 Nigerians deported

– 2020: 302 deported

– 2021: 242 deported

– 2022: 199 deported

After falling off the top 10 list in 2023 and 2024, Nigeria reappeared in 2025, recording 366 removals in just ten months, an 8% increase compared to the 2019 figure.

The spike coincides with Canada’s broader efforts to speed up the deportation of individuals deemed inadmissible due to immigration violations, criminality, or national security concerns.
