Rhe Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, is set to celebrate the weddings of nine of his children in a single ceremony next month.
The weddings are scheduled to be held at the Central Mosque in Abuja on February 6.
The invitation for the event, which has circulated widely on social media and was confirmed by officials, lists the names of the nine children: Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi, and Farida. According to Yusuf Idris, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State, the group comprises five sons and four daughters.
Idris, who is also a member of the event’s planning committee, stated that arrangements are at an advanced stage to ensure a smooth and successful ceremony. He stressed the significance of the occasion, noting that it reflects both the minister’s personal milestone and a cultural celebration.
As preparations continue, the event is expected to draw dignitaries, political associates, and well-wishers from across the country to the nation’s capital next month.
