Tributes have poured in for human rights lawyer Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika as he marked his 60th birthday, with associates praising his long-standing commitment to justice and advocacy for the working class.
In a statement, a member of the Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM), Abbey Trotsky, commended Olumide-Fusika for his consistency in using the law to support social change.
He described the Senior Advocate of Nigeria as a principled figure who has remained dedicated to defending the rights of the poor and vulnerable since his university days.
Trotsky also expressed gratitude for Olumide-Fusika’s legal support in a case involving alleged police intimidation linked to Sumal Foods Limited, which arose from concerns over workers’ welfare.
According to him, the intervention went beyond legal representation, reflecting the lawyer’s broader commitment to justice and social equity.
He added that Olumide-Fusika’s integrity and dedication to advocacy continue to inspire members of the movement and others within Nigeria’s civic space.
The statement concluded with wishes for good health and continued impact as the legal practitioner marks the new age.
