Manchester United have given a condition to make midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat’s contract permanent.

Amrabat joined Man United on a season-long loan from Fiorentina last September after excelling for Morocco at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ma United’s loan deal included the option to make Amrabat’s move permanent this summer which the Red Devils have declined to take up, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Man United are only interested in negotiating a new deal with Fiorentina to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent transfer after informing the club they will not trigger a €20million (£16.8m) buy option.

Amrabat largely struggled during his first season in the Premier League.

He did force his way back into Erik ten Hag’s side at the end of the season, impressing in final league games against Newcastle United and Brighton before his excellent performance in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
