The former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Afolabi Imoukhuede, has paid tribute to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in a London hospital at the age of 82.
In a message posted online, Imoukhuede described Buhari as “a general, a leader, a statesman,” and recalled his time serving under him as part of the administration’s youth employment drive.
“My Principal,” he wrote, “as his SSA-P on Job Creation & Youth Employment, delivering the N-Power Youth Job Creation and Entrepreneurship Programme as one of the high points of his administration… Thank you for your service, your leadership, and for giving me the opportunity to serve my fatherland.”

The N-Power programme, launched in 2016, provided hundreds of thousands of young Nigerians with job placements, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support. It was one of the flagship initiatives under Buhari’s National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP), aimed at addressing youth unemployment and poverty.
Imoukhuede concluded his tribute by asking God to comfort the family of the ex-President.
