The federal government has warned foreign national that the Nigerian citizenship is a privilege that must be earned through integrity and good character.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made this statement after revealing that Nigeria received one hundred and seventy citizenship applications from nationals of different countries.
The Minister stressed that the Federal Government will not tolerate any attempt to acquire Nigerian citizenship through illegal means, adding that legal migration processes must always be respected.
Tunji Ojo however appealed to the Advisory Committee on Nigerian Citizenship, to thoroughly scrutinize all applications, to supports government’s vision of national integrity and security.
