Commuters in some parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Monday were stranded at various Bus-Stops, following the inability of commercial vehicles, motorcycles and tricycle operators to get fuel for their operations.

Some of the commuters, the majority of who are civil servants were seen standing helpless at bus stops waiting for vehicles or other means of transportation to their places of work.

A good number of fuel stations visited Monday, had their stations locked without any sign of activity taking place.

A civil servant, Mrs Adenike Jayeola, said: “I’ve been standing here since few minutes past 7 am waiting for a bus or tricycle to board to no avail. I think this is so because the majority of the fuel stations are not open for operations.”

Another commuter, Mr Sanjo, a civil servant, said: “I’ve been here for the past thirty minutes without getting a vehicle, Okada on a tricycle to board and I am getting late for work already.

It was reported last Thursday that petroleum marketers under the aegis of the Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Ibadan depot, which covers Oyo, Osun states and environs held a meeting on possible review of petroleum products pump price.

Meanwhile, the IPMAN Chairman, Ibadan Depot, Alhaji Bukola Mutiu, while speaking on Thursday denied that the meeting held did not have anything to do with the fuel pump price review either upward or downward.
