“How Are You Achieving All This Without TETFund Intervention? I’m not surprised, he is giving everybody the space to grow,” were the words of the National President of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association, Engr. Adeyemi Bello, as he led a delegation of the association on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of McPherson University, Prof. Francis Igbasan.
The delegation comprised distinguished members of the association, including the Vice President, Mrs. Ola Salawu, Prof. Ola Salawu, and Engr. Dr. Oladimeji S. T. Their visit aimed to strengthen professional and academic ties while celebrating the remarkable achievements of one of their own in higher education leadership.
Prof. Igbasan warmly received the delegation and conducted them on a tour of the University’s facilities. Among the visitors was one of his former students at FUTA, Prof. Ola Salawu and his wife Mrs. Ola Salawu, now a respected academic, a reunion that stirred fond memories and pride.
During the visit, Engr. Bello lauded Prof. Igbasan’s exemplary leadership and notable accomplishments at McPherson University, describing him as a visionary who nurtures growth and excellence. He conveyed the goodwill of the FUTA Alumni Association worldwide and expressed admiration for the progress recorded under his leadership.
In his response, Prof. Igbasan thanked the delegation for the visit and reflected on his long-standing connection with FUTA. “Since 1983 when I joined and graduated in 1988, FUTA has been my home. Anytime I see products of FUTA, I am proud, this is the place that made me,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to FUTA and acknowledged the immense support of the Foursquare Gospel Church, proprietors of McPherson University. “The Church believes in this administration and has been supportive. Whatever we have achieved here today is by the grace of God,” he added.
