It was a day of reflection and tribute in Aremo, Ibadan, as family members, friends and well-wishers gathered to honour the life of Pa Emmanuel Gbolarumi Oyewo, who died at the age of 80.
The funeral service, held at St Peter’s Anglican Church, drew a large crowd of mourners who came to celebrate what they described as a life devoted to service and humanity.
Speaking at the event, one of the deceased’s sons-in-law, Odunayo Azeez, said Pa Oyewo lived a life marked by simplicity and commitment to others, leaving behind lasting impressions on those who knew him.
In his sermon, the officiating priest, Rev Sam Ola Omoyayi, urged attendees to reflect on their spiritual lives and remain steadfast in faith, stressing the importance of living in accordance with God’s teachings.
The service featured prayers, hymns and tributes, as mourners paid their last respects to the late patriarch.
Family members described him as a man whose life was filled with testimonies, expressing hope that his legacy would continue to inspire generations.
Pa Oyewo is survived by children, grandchildren and extended family members.
