Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has appealed to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to intervene in his lingering face-off with the Federal Government.
During a visit to the monarch at the Ile Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife on Saturday, Igboho sought the Ooni’s help in securing his removal from the Department of State Services (DSS) wanted list and lifting the embargo on his bank accounts.
Igboho, who was declared wanted in July 2021 by the DSS for alleged stockpiling of arms, said he remained unable to access his finances and needed the Ooni’s royal influence to secure relief.
“I am here to further seek your help as you have been doing before. I am still on the Federal Government wanted list, and I want you to help me clear my name. Also, my account is frozen and I want you to assist me with that also,” Igboho said.
He also apologised to the monarch for past verbal attacks, saying, “I want you to forgive and forget whatever wrong I have done to you. You are my father and you can’t do away with me. I know you have forgiven me going by this warm reception.”
The activist was accompanied to the palace by a large number of friends and associates.
