The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Lagos State chapter, has commenced a 50-day rotational Continuous Voter Registration exercise across wards in the state, aimed at reducing voter apathy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Ayobami Salami, disclosed this during an interview withAdamimogo 93.1 FM,stating that the Continuous Voter Registration is being conducted in three batches, with the first phase already concluded between August 18 and December 10, 2025.
Professor Salami explained that the ward-level rotational approach is designed to bring registration closer to residents, decongest centres, and ensure inclusivity.
He further stated that the exercise allows eligible voters to transfer their voter registration to Lagos State, as well as correct personal details such as name changes due to marriage.
