Kun Khalifat FC has denied reports claiming the club has withdrawn from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), following sanctions imposed by the league management for failing to honour a scheduled fixture.
The NPFL Board charged the club with violating the league’s Framework and Rules and handed down a suspended fine of ₦10 million. The fine will only be enforced if a similar offence occurs before the end of the 2025–2026 season.
Speaking in an interview with the Adamimogo FM sports crew, the club’s Media Officer, Ezinwa Godwin, described the reported withdrawal as false and misleading.
Ezinwa Godwin expressed displeasure over the actions of the NPFL management, explaining that the club’s management is currently in a closed-door meeting. He added that a formal decision would be communicated to the public after the meeting.
Kun Khalifat FC reaffirmed its commitment to Nigerian football, stating that the club remains focused on exploring every available opportunity to showcase its talent and represent Nigerian football with pride.
