The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has confirmed that a suspect has been arraigned in court following a widely circulated social media video involving an alleged domestic violence survivor identified as @anniesglowlagos on TikTok.
In a statement released by the Agency, officials disclosed that immediate steps were taken after the video surfaced, including establishing contact with the survivor and ensuring the case was formally reported to the appropriate authorities.
Preliminary findings revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2026, and was reported to the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Nigeria Police Force at FESTAC Police Station.
According to the Agency, the survivor alleged that she was physically assaulted by her estranged partner, sustaining severe injuries, including the loss of a finger.
The suspect was subsequently apprehended, and investigations were carried out by law enforcement authorities.
The case was charged to court on March 25, 2026, at Court 6, MBA Ajegunle.
The accused has since been remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre pending further legal proceedings.
Authorities confirmed that bail was granted in the sum of ₦200,000 with two sureties, while the next hearing has been scheduled for April 29, 2026.
The survivor has also been referred for psychosocial support to aid her recovery and overall well-being.
Reaffirming its stance, the Lagos State Government reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and urged members of the public to report such incidents promptly.
