The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed Ejanla Restaurant, located at No. 40, Fola Osibo Street lekki Lagos, for allegedly discharging raw sewage directly into public drains.
According to officials, the restaurant was caught using a pumping machine to channel untreated wastewater into the drainage system, resulting in offensive odour and posed serious health risks to nearby residents.
In a post on X, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, described the act as a “deliberate discharge” and a blatant violation of Lagos State environmental regulations.
He condemned the act and reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward environmental offences, adding that the state government remains resolute in its mission to protect residents from health hazards caused by environmental negligence.
The commissioner assured that the state has intensified surveillance to identify similar infractions in both residential and commercial areas.
