Lagos state government has assured that it will continue to invest on water transportation, to provide alternative and reliable transport systems for residents.
Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Jubril Gawat gave the assurance in response to a tweet, urging the government to improve services on the water ways after the E1 Lagos GP.
Gawat stated that the state government has bought new boats for LAGFERRY, opened a new Police division for the waterways, opened a brand new security command and control center for LASWA and launched the water ambulance for riverine areas.
He further revealed that the government is waiting to take delivery of about 100 electric boats under the OMI EKO Project to boost water transportation.
