The Lagos State government has issued an ultimatum to the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, to address continued violations of the electronic platform by some tanker operators.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, during a meeting with NUPENG representatives, warned that a recurring pattern of disregard for the e-call up booking process, threatens the government’s efforts to ensure efficient traffic management across the Lekki–Epe corridor.

He noted that repeated breaches of the system had encouraged illegal cash transactions and indiscriminate truck parking along major access roads, resulting in congestion and operational inefficiency within the corridor.

Reaffirming the state’s stance, Osiyemi stressed that the e-call up system mandates all petroleum tankers and articulated vehicles to undergo proper validation and obtain clearance before accessing designated parks or loading facilities.
