The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested eight suspected members of a notorious cult and armed robbery gang in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
In a statement, the police command said the suspected criminals were arrested while planning coordinated attacks on the community.
According to the force, items recovered from the scenes include military camouflage uniforms, weapons like a battle axe and dagger, charms, and fake foreign currency totaling $3,000.
One of the suspects, Fadiya Ayodele confessed to handing a locally made pistol to a fleeing suspect named as Adewunmi Annadex, who the police said is on their radar.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the team’s swift operation and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to public safety and fighting criminal activity across Lagos State.
