The Lagos State Police Command says it is aware of the recent spike in cases of harassment and extortion of motorists by street urchins harassing, noting that a decisive action is already underway.
The force public relations officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi said this in a social media post today, while reacting to a now viral video of a motorist that was extorted by area boys in Ikorodu area of the state.
Adebisi said the Commissioner of Police has directed all tactical units across the state to intensify both foot and vehicular patrols in order to make the streets safer for all residents.
She urged residents to continue cooperating with the Police by providing timely and useful information that can assist ongoing security operations.
