The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the identity of officers allegedly involved in an attack on popular actor and content creator Ijoba Lande.
The actor, who recently returned from the United Kingdom, raised the alarm on his social media accounts, describing the incident as life-threatening.
According to Lande, he and a friend were allegedly assaulted by the police officers, during which his iPhone 16 Pro Max and $1,200 belonging to his brother were reportedly seized.
The incident reportedly left him injured, with visible blood on his face and shirt, a fact he highlighted in a video shared online. In the clip, Lande appeared in pain while his friends encouraged him to report the matter to the police.
The actor described the encounter as a near-fatal experience, saying he “nearly lost my life.”
His social media posts quickly gained attention, sparking discussions about police conduct, accountability, and the safety of citizens when interacting with law enforcement in Lagos State.
In response, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the officers allegedly involved have been brought before the Command for questioning.
She said that statements are currently being collected from both the accused officers and the victims, including Lande and his friend.
SP Adebisi assured the public that the investigation is ongoing and pledged that updates would be provided as the case develops.
While the police have not yet released detailed information on the circumstances leading to the alleged assault, the incident has intensified calls for transparency and accountability in law enforcement operations across the state.
