Lagos state police command has assured the public that the guilty parties in the ghastly accident on the Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will face the wrath of the law.
The Commissioner of Police, Olorundare Jimoh speaking during an on the spot assessment of the unfortunate incident explained that the accident was a case of reckless driving, aggravated by brake failure.
The police chief further stated that the force will investigate the cause of the accident, to proffer solutions and sanctions where necessary.
Olorundare who warned motorists, especially articulated vehicles to always ensure their vehicles are in good condition, extended his condolence to the family of a police officer who lost his life in the incident, describing him as a patriot.
So far, at least six people have been confirmed dead in an accident which occurred on Wednesday night, involving some trucks, including a fuel tanker, that collided on the bridge.
