The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is set to commence ward-level enrolment for the National Identification Number across the country.
the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, disclosed that the exercise will begin on February 16, 2026, in line with the presidential directive to take NIN registration to the grassroots.
The statement explained that the enrolment is free of charge and is aimed at registering all Nigerians and legal residents, including children, into the National Identity Database.
NIMC notes that the initiative is designed to decentralise services, improve accessibility, and reduce the burden of travel for citizens seeking registration.
The statement adds that ward enrollment schedules are available on its website, while members of the public can also contact its toll-free line for further enquiries.
