The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has taken another step to strengthen internal accountability with the nationwide inauguration of its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Units (ACTU).
The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, said corruption weakens national security and erodes Nigeria’s credibility in the global community, assuring that the newly inaugurated ACTU desks will be adequately equipped to promote a culture of integrity and professionalism across the Service.
According to the NIS, the inauguration of the ACTU desks signals a renewed commitment to embedding reforms not only in policy, but also in day-to-day practice.
Also speaking at the event, a representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Olusegun Adigun, urged the nominated desk officers to work closely with Service management to reinforce accountability, ethical conduct, and transparency in daily operations
