The minister of the federal capital territory, Nyesome Wike has accused the Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed of falsehood and deceit, in his political pursuit.
The Bauchi state governor who had severally denied reports of his exit from the Peoples democratic party, on Tuesday hinted that the African Democratic Congress was his preferred destination.
Mohammed gave the indication after hosting a delegation of the ADC led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal
At the meeting, he alleged that internal divisions within the PDP were being exacerbated by external influences, accusing the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of contributing to the crisis.
However in a press conference today, Nyesome Wike expressed dismay at the insincerity of the Bauchi state governor, accusing him of supporting president Bola Tinubu while in the PDP.
According to Wike, Bala Mohammed told him, he went to Lagos to see Mr President and that he told the president, ‘I can’t move to APC; I want to be in PDP to support you’ [Tinubu].

As regards the political activities of the PDP, Wike submitted that the party will be on the ballot in 2027, and will present a presidential candidate in the next election.

The former state governor also noted that former members willing to come back will be treated fairly and appropriately.

Wike’s statement follows the successful conduct of the party’s congress, where new leaders were elected ahead of the 2027 general elections.
