The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has pledged to personally attend all home matches of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
Oba Ladoja made the promise on Thursday when the club’s chairman, Mr. Taiwo Lekan-Salami, led players and management staff on a courtesy visit to his residence in Ibadan.
Describing 3SC as a unifying force for Ibadanland and a symbol of Yoruba identity, the Olubadan-designate assured the team of his commitment to attract more private sector investments to complement government funding of the club.
“I will personally visit the stadium to watch your home matches to encourage you, because you are not only representing Ibadanland, but the entire Yoruba race,” he said.
In response, Mr. Lekan-Salami said the royal father’s words of encouragement would inspire the players and boost their morale.
“With royal blessings that we just received, we believe 3SC will return to winning ways,” the club chairman added.
